Arunachal Anti-Drug president arrested
He was accused of firing his pistol while confronting a person in an area along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh inter-state boundary under Bihpuria Police Station recently.

North Lakhimpur: Gumin Mize, President of Arunachal Anti-Drug Warriors, an anti-drug campaign organisation, was arrested by Lakhimpur Police from Itanagar in connection with a criminal case registered at Bihpuria Police Station in Assam’s Lakhimpur district.

Mize was arrested under Section 109 of the BNS and Sections 27(1) and 27(2) of the Arms Act.

He was accused of firing his pistol while confronting a person in an area along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh inter-state boundary under Bihpuria Police Station recently.

Mize was produced before the Judicial Magistrate in North Lakhimpur and remanded to two days in custody.

However, Gumin Mize clarified that he had fired warning shots in the air in self-defence when he was attacked with a machete by a drug peddler he had confronted.
