A total of 86 swab samples were collected from several quarantine facilities of Tawang district for COVID-19 testing on Sunday.

Out of the 86 samples, Dr Sangey Thinlay, the district surveillance officer of Tawang’s integrated disease surveillance programme (IDSP) alone collected 80 swab samples from the ‘walk-in sample collection kiosk’ of the Khandro Drowa Tsangmu district hospital.

The rest of the swab samples were collected by Dr Rinchin Neema from the Jang quarantine facility, officials said.

Dr Thinley further informed that contract tracing of 3740 people has been completed in the district till now.

A total of 1541 tourists who visited Tawang within February 06 to March 22 have been traced and contacted over phone and all are doing well, the DSO said.
