ITANAGAR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alongside cabinet colleagues Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Sarbananda Sonowal, Piyush Goyal, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, are set to be key campaigners for the BJP in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunachal Pradesh is scheduled to hold simultaneous elections on April 19, encompassing two Lok Sabha seats and 60 assembly constituencies.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with Assam’s Housing & Urban Affairs and Irrigation Minister Ashok Singhal, will partake in the campaign across the state.

Additionally, Nagaland’s Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton and Tourism Minister Temjen Imma Along are enlisted as star campaigners for the party.

Vote counting for the Assembly elections is scheduled for June 2, while for the Lok Sabha elections, it will take place on June 4.

During the 2019 assembly elections in the state, the BJP secured 41 seats, JD(U) attained seven seats, the NPP captured five seats, the Congress secured four seats, the PPA won one seat, and two Independent candidates emerged victorious.
