Guwahati: Significant progress has been made in resolving the Arunachal Pradesh–Assam boundary dispute.
Around 80 percent of contentious issues in the Kangku Circle area of Lower Siang district have been settled, according to Kardo Nyigyor, MLA from Likhabali and Deputy Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
Speaking about the developments in his constituency, Nyigyor said that, except for disputes involving three villages, most boundary-related issues in Lower Siang have been resolved through dialogue and coordination.
He expressed confidence that the remaining concerns would also be addressed peacefully.
On the development front, Nyigyor noted that a new district hospital in Lower Siang is nearing completion and will soon be inaugurated.
He added that the construction of government quarters and a district secretariat is underway at Siji, the newly designated headquarters of Lower Siang district, to enhance administrative infrastructure and public services.
Meanwhile, Keyi Panyor district witnessed smooth and incident-free Panchayat elections on December 15, with officials reporting an orderly polling process and adequate police supervision.
