Arunachal Pradesh has reported 244 new COVID-19 cases. 

It is the highest single-day spike in Arunachal Pradesh thus far. 

The detection of these 244 new COVID-19 cases has pushed Arunachal Pradesh’s total COVID-19 tally to 20,046. 

The Itanagar Capital Region recorded the maximum number of fresh cases. 

As many as 77 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Arunachal Pradesh. 

The other districts and towns of Arunachal Pradesh to report new COVID-19 cases are”: Tawang – 33, Lower Dibang Valley and Lohit – 20 each, Changlang – 19, Lower Siang – 13, East Siang -12 and Lower Subansiri – 10. 

This was informed by Arunachal Pradesh State Surveillance Officer – Dr Lobsang Jampa on Sunday.

Four CRPF personnel and an army jawan are also among the new 244 cases.  

Of the total new cases, 211 were detected through Rapid Antigen test, 17 through RT-PCR test and 16 through True Nat. 

While only 96 of the new 244 cases are symptomatic, the remaining are asymptomatic. 

Meanwhile, 135 people have also recovered from the deadly disease on Saturday. 

The total number of recoveries in Arunachal Pradesh now stands at 17,984.

Meanwhile, the death toll in the state remained at 60. 

The COVID-19 recovery rate in Arunachal Pradesh currently stands at 89.71 percent. 

Meanwhile, the active cases tally in Arunachal Pradesh has crossed the 2000-mark. 

The state has 2002 active COVID-19 cases. 

The Itanagar Capital Region has the highest number of active cases at 570.
