COVID-19 has claimed two lives in Mizoram within just 4 hours. 

An 82-year-old man, hailing from Thakthing Veng in Aizawl, succumbed to COVID-19 on Sunday. 

The deceased person also had co-morbidity. 

The person passed away at the Zoram Medical College near Aizawl in Mizoram at 1:00pm.

On the other hand, another 87-year-old man hailing from Aizawl’s Bethlehem Vengthlang also died of COVID-19 on Sunday.

The person was diagnosed with COVID-19 on April 29 and succumbed to the virus at ZMC on Sunday at 3:50 pm.

With these new death cases, Mizoram’s COVID-19 death toll has mounted to 18. 

Meanwhile, 169 new COVID-19 cases were also detected in Mizoram through-out Saturday.  

Mizoram’s active cases tally is now closing in on the 2000-mark. 

Mizoram currently has 1951 active COVID-19 cases.

Mizoram capital city – Aizawl accounts for the maximum number of active COVID-19 cases. 

There are a total of 1368 active COVID-19 cases in Aizawl, Mizoram. 

A 7-day “total lockdown” in Mizoram will come into effect from 4 am of Monday.  

The Mizoram Government has decided to impose lockdown in the State to curb the spread of COVID-19.
