Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Hollongi airport in February.

The chief minister said that the project was pending for ten years due to bureaucratic roadblock regarding land compensation issue.

“But, the central government ending all controversies accorded sanction for its construction in December last year. The project will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February this year,” Khandu said.

Attending the Golden Jubilee celebration of Bilat HS School in East Siang district on Friday, he said that Union Ministers have visited the frontier state more than 130 times during last four years, which was not recorded during last 24 years.

He said that central government is putting priority towards road and air connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh.

Khandu said the developmental process in the state has got a new motion after Narendra Modi led BJP government rules the centre for last five years.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who promised to develop the NE region for development of the country, has turned the promise into reality. The central government under his leadership has boost road and air connectivity, while it has promoted digital connectivity in the state”, Khandu said.

Khandu observes that Union Ministers have visited the frontier state more than 130 times during last four years, which breaks record of earlier 26 years.

“The state recorded Union Minister visit less than 50 time from 1987 (attained statehood) to 2013, but the people witnessed visit of Union Minister more than 130 after Narendra Modi took power as the Prime Minister”, he added.

Khandu recalled that Narendra Modi BJP government took step for early completion of Advanced Landing Ground at Pasighat in East Siang, while it developed rail connectivity in the state.

Moreover, the government has completed construction of Bogibeel bridge over Brahmaputra river in Assam and introduced Tinsukia-Naharlagun passenger train to ease people’s journey in eastern belt.
