At least seven shops were gutted at Bordumsa of Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh early Thursday morning at around 4 am.
Property worth several lakhs of rupees were ravaged to ashes after the devastating fire engulfed the entire shops in a row located along Bordumsa township road in front of Ajatshatru park.
Notably, personnel belonging to nearby Bordumsa Punjab Regiment of the Indian Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) rising to the occasion swung into action and got engaged in rescue and recovery works and also helped dousing the fire.
The temporary shop owners were carrying out their respective trade including restaurants, stationery, jewellery, wholesale grocery etc in their respective shops owned by local owners when the fire broke out engulfing everything in its devastating flames.
Meanwhile, the exact damage estimate was being assessed by the local administration and a team from Bordumsa Police at the time filing this report.
The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained though people suspect that the inferno has been caused by electric short circuit.
Meanwhile, people expressed strong resentment as no fire service was pressed into service immediately due to non-availability of the service locally nor immediate service from the nearby location was fetched during the crisis.
