Arunachal Pradesh’s Lumdung (Pappu Valley) in East Kameng district is all set to host the state’s first paragliding festival.
The festival will be held from November 17 to 19.

The event is aimed at creating awareness and interest among the youths of Arunachal Pradesh in paragliding. Many experienced pilots from the country and abroad are expected to take part, informed an organizer.
The Paragliding Association of Arunachal (PAA) is organizing the festival in collaboration with the youth affairs and the tourism departments.
Paragliding Association of Arunachal (PAA) president Vijay Sonam said, “Paragliding was included as a sports event in the just-concluded Asian Games in Jakarta. It has also been recognized by the International Olympic Association as a sport, and it is expected to be an event in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.”

A website was also launched for the Arunachal Paragliding Festival recently where interested participants cam register.
