In order to take various public welfare services of the central and Arunachal state governments amidst rural people of the state, different districts administrations of the state have been conducting Sarkar Aapke Dwaar (government at your doorstep) under its “Jan Sunwai Sammelan”.

The programme was launched at Likabali town in Lower Siang district bordering Dhemaji of Assam on Saturday in presence of administrative officials of all the departments.

Inaugurating the three-month long programme today, Lower Siang Deputy Commissioner A K Singh said the state government has taken up the effort to bring its departments among the rural people and asked them to avail various services and benefits rendered by the departments through the special programme.

Various departments including civil administration, police, forest, medical health, agriculture, industry, financial banks, power, education, PHED, Food & Civil Supply and election departments placed at different stalls conducted their public services for the day.

Thus, local administration issued certificates of income, birth & death, permanent residence and Scheduled Tribe certificates to the applicants, heath department staff conducted free health check up and malaria parasite and sugar tests.

The officials also informed the people about flagship schemes like Dulari Koniya, Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana and Ayushmaan Bharat with the scheme benefits.

The agriculture department issued two Power Tillers under Chief Minister Farm Mechanization Scheme and Food & Civil Supply gave six selected beneficiaries free domestic LPG connections under Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana, which were disbursed to them by the DC.

Moreover, forest department distributed about 2000 seedlings of different plant species besides distribution of solar panel and solar operated torch light free of cost, while Likabali branch of Arunchal Pradesh Rural Bank and SBI jointly conducted financial literacy awareness, taught the people about flagship schemes such as PMSBY, PMJJBY, Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Scheme and other insurance schemes. The banks also facilitated opening of Savings Account and Adhaar seeding.

As such, police department of the district made the local people aware on fire safety norms and traffic rules & regulations and asked the people to obey the rules to ensure their safety and education department showed various student welfare schemes (flagship) being implemented in the district.

The election department made practical demonstration on use of EVM and its credibility in exercising their adult franchise during poll and Industry department showed handloom and handicrafts products.

Moreover, Women & Child Development, PHE and education departments explained the people about their social welfare and community health service schemes with distribution of information leaflets.

The district administration has set a series of ‘Jan Sunwai Sammelan’ programme covering all administrative sub-divisions, block and circles under the district.

Earlier, different Siang districts of eastern Arunachal including East Siang, Siang and Upper Siang launched such Jan Sunwai Sammelan as their officials outreach programme.
