The Namsai district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday celebrated four years of completion and achievement of the party at the Centre.
Highlighting various welfare programmes and policies of the Centre at Mahadevpur, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Northeast has received special focus and the results are visible with accelerated development especially in air, railway and road connectivity in the region.
“The PM is focused and giving special attention to the Northeast, and it is evident from the number of times he has visited the region, which is more than the total visits undertaken by his predecessors in the 60 years before him,” he said.
He said that the BJP government at the Centre is committed to inclusive growth and development with focus on doubling farmers’ income, empowering women through legislation, harnessing youth energy through skill development, transforming education and furthering sports and sportsmanship through Khelo India, ensuring ease of doing business through GST, urban transformation through smart cities, etc.
Mein also said the BJP government is committed for eliminating corruption, institutionalizing honesty and enhancing transparency through IT, DBT, etc. 0
He added that the State government under Chief Minister Pema Khandu is working hand-in-hand for achieving all these objectives and committed to implementing all the PM’s/CM’s flagship programmes and CSS in letter and spirit in the State.
He also said Khandu has launched Chief Minister’s Dashboard and satellite-based geo tagging App through which the Chief Minister and the government can monitor the progress, status and implementations of projects by click of a mouse.
Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Investment, Training and Personnel, Chau Zingnu Namchoom also highlighted the welfare programmes and policies initiated by the BJP government such as per drop more crop, Ujjwala scheme, Swalambhan Yojana, protection of women and girl child, achievements in International arena and foreign relations and making Yoga Day a global event and various initiatives in health sectors for making India a healthy nation, ODF status/achievements, etc.
The main motto of organizing the event was to highlight and make people aware of the various welfare policies and programmes and initiatives and achievements of the Central Government in the last four years, district BJP president Chow Sujana Namchoom said.
“It was mainly organized to ensure that the benefits of government programmes and policies percolate down to the grassroots and the masses derive benefit in real terms,” he added.
Among others, district BJP in-charge Junti Singpho, BJP Mandal presidents from Lekang, Namsai and Chongkham also spoke on the occasion.
