The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief Akhil Gogoi on Friday alleged that the investigation into the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) cash-for-job scam is not progressing in right direction.
“Dibrugarh police, which is investigating into the case, have failed to arrest number of individuals involved in the scam. Number officials, who availed APSC jobs through unfair means, have not been arrested because they are close to influential ministers and political leaders,” Gogoi told reporters here.

Gogoi alleged that police have not arrested ACS officers who are close to Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in connection with the scam.
“The BJP claims to adopt zero tolerance against corruption, but in reality it is selectively targeting officers and eliminating them for their own benefit,” Gogoi said.
Akhil further questioned the government’s inaction over CBI probe against former APSC Chairman Rakesh Paul.
