Coronavirus cases are on the rise on India.

The latest being a Paytm employee in Gurgaon who has tested positive for novel coronavirus.

This was confirmed by the company in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The employee had recently returned from a vacation in Italy, one of the worst-hit countries from coronavirus.

A Paytm spokesperson had confirmed that one of their colleagues based out of Gurgaon office who recently returned from a vacation in Italy post a vacation has been tested positive for coronavirus.

The spokesperson further stated that the affected person is receiving appropriate treatment and the company is extending complete support to his family.

Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, the company has suggested his team members to get health tests done immediately.

The company has also advised all staff to work from home for a couple of days while its offices are sanitized.

The company said all its six offices will remain closed for sanitising purposes and announced two-day leave for all its employees.

Paytm currently has five offices in Noida and one in Gurugram.

With this 29 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in India till Wednesday.
