Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi on Thursday came down heavily on the Sarbananda Sonowal-led Assam government for its continuous failure to arrange recruitment examination in a clean and proper manner.

KMSS leader Gogoi, while talking to media persons at Goalpara on the sidelines of his appearance at Goalpara district court for an old case, demanded resignation of Assam power minister Topon Gogoi for failure in properly arranging written examination for appointment in the Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APDCL).

Gogoi also critised the state government for loopholes in the whole recruitment process in Panchayat & Rural Development (P&RD) department.

The KMSS leader also lambasted the Sonowal government for fresh corruption charges in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).

“A fresh charge of scam post Rakesh Paul episode in the APSC is very unfortunate for the entire Assamese race. The government should initiate an inquiry into the APSC fresh scandals by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI),” Gogoi demanded.

Akhil Gogoi also alleged that the state government is trying to shut his mouth by clamping cases upon him one after another.

“The government has piled up 129 cases upon me and is continuously trying to shut my mouth. But our struggle will continue,” he said.

Gogoi was put behind Goalpara district jail for three days sixteen months back in a case of defacing the signboard of Dindayal Upadhyay College at Dudhnoi in Goalpara district by members of his organization (KMSS). On Thursday, his bail petition was granted further again in the case.
