Ajmal also alleged that despite several requests made by his organisations, the Government of Assam has failed to arrest the Hojai MLA though he continues to make inflammatory statements against a particular community “only because he belongs to the ruling party”.

In reply to a question regarding the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s stand on the national Register of Citizens (NRC, Ajmal said that he has a good relationship with Mamata but despite that he cannot support her in the NRC issue as the entire process of updating NRC has been going on in a peaceful manner and under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
