While Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) was presented with the First Highest Tax Payer’s Award in the Corporate Tax Payer category, Oil India Limited (OIL) was presented with the Second Highest Tax Payer’s Award and the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) was presented with the the Third Highest Tax Payer’s Award in the Corporate Tax Payer category.

The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, North Eastern Region, LC Joshi Ranee presented the awards to the highest tax payers in the northeastern region on Tuesday as part of the celebrations of the 158th Income Tax Day in Guwahati.

The awards for the financial year 2016-17 were presented in three categories -Individual Tax Payer, Corporate Tax Payer (PSUs) and Corporate Tax Payer (Non-PSUs).

Rajendra Kumar Bader, Anand Kishor Jain and Jugal Kishor Mahanta were awarded as the first, second and third highest tax individual payers respectively under the Individual Tax Payer category.

Greenply Industries Limited, Lafarge Umiam Mining Private Limited and Star Cement, Meghalaya were awarded as the first, second and third highest tax payers respectively under the Corporate Tax Payer (Non-PSUs) category.

LC Joshi Ranee presented mementos along with certificates to the top tax payers in presence of dignitaries from ICAI Guwahati, Tax Bar Association Guwahati, FINER Guwahati and others.
