The 18th Peace and Communal Harmony & All Manipur Art & Culture and Sports Development Society (AMACSDS) Awards were presented during a programme held at the Asha hall Complex at North AOC in Imphal on Sunday.

Manipur Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam, Chairman L Radhakishore Singh of the Pollution Control Board & Khadi & Village and functionaries of the AMACSDS also attended the awards distribution ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister Radheshyam said that a good relationship between all sections of people inhabiting in the State is a must for maintaining peace and communal harmony in the society. He said that one should be hard working and should try to remain busy since an empty mind tends to incline towards negative thoughts.

Awards were conferred to personalities from different walks of life who have been working for the uplift of the society and the State.

Radheshyam said, “We, the human beings, need to remain positive to bring a constructive change in the society.”

He further said that one should try to follow the footsteps of Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela who had sacrificed their lives for the well-being of the people. He appealed to the people to enrich themselves with positive feelings of love, peace and amity to bring development and progress in the society.

In his speech, Chairman L Radhakishore Singh of Pollution Control Board said that human needs to think and work keeping in mind that the entire living and non living creature thrives together. “It is important that we learn to preserve and conserve our environment to maintain the harmony of nature,” the Oinam MLA added.
