Nepalโ€™s female cricketer Anjali Chand on Monday scripted history by becoming the first player to take six wickets for no runs in a T20 International (T20I) game against Maldives in Pokhara.

During the first match of the South Asian Games womenโ€™s cricket competition on Monday, Maldives captain Zoona Mariyam opted to bat but her team were able to score only 16 runs in total with Chandโ€™s extraordinary performance.

The 24-year-old Chand took three wickets in the seventh over, two in the ninth over and one in the 11th over.

With Chandโ€™s amazing bowling on Monday, the Nepalโ€™s women cricket team was able to easily win the game in just 0.5 overs.

It may be mentioned that Mas Elysa of Maldives womenโ€™s cricket team had previously held the record with figures of 6 for 3 registered against China earlier this year.

The menโ€™s record for the best bowling figures in a T20I game is held by Indiaโ€™s Deepak Chahar who had picked up 6 wickets for 7 runs against Bangladesh in Nagpur on November 10.
