Uttar Pradesh police on Sunday sounded an alert along the India-Nepal border areas of the state.

The alert was sounded in Maharajganj, Kushinagar and Siddharth Nagar districts along the border after two ISIS terrorists were suspected to have entered the state.

As per reports, the police suspected that the terrorists- Abdul Samad and Iliyas- might try to enter Nepal.

“Two wanted terrorists Abdul Samad and Iliyas can try to enter Nepal from Uttar Pradesh,” IG (Basti range) Ashutosh Kumar said.

The  the special cell of the Delhi Police arrested three suspected ISIS terrorists from Goalpara district in Assam in November last year.

The police had also recovered Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from their possession.

According to the police, the arrested men had planned to blow up Dudhnoi’s Raas festival in Assam.
