Coinciding with ‘Visit Nepal 2020’, the Nepal government is all set to organize an international media summit next year.

This was informed by Gokul Prasad Baskota, minister of information and communication, the government of Nepal.

“The summit will be in partnership with Nepali media and media houses,” Baskota said while addressing the first international conference of Nepal Hotel and Tourism Entrepreneurs’ Association.

The minister urged the hotel and tourism entrepreneurs to collaborate with the government for the international summit.

“I want you to lead Visit Nepal-2020,” he added.

He further said that an international media summit in 2008 organised by the Thai government helped it to revive its tourism sector that received a severe blow due to floods in the same year.

He also assured the gathering that the government would formulate policies to assist hoteliers and tourism entrepreneurs.

Baskota further informed that the Nepal government had allocated Rs 100 million for preparation of the Visit Nepal-2020.
