Nepal‘s Survey Department has revealed that China is encroaching into its land through an ongoing road expansion project in Tibet.
“Around 36 hectors of land in four different districts, including Sankhuwasabha, Rasuwa, Sindhupalchowk and Humla, which touch the Chinese border, has been encroached upon,” reported Free Press Journal.

“Around six hectors of land in the Bhagdare River in Humla district and 4 hectors of land in Karnali district have been encroached upon, which now falls in Tibet’s Furang area,” the report added.
It was further reported that around 6 hectares of Nepal’s land in Sanjen River and Jambhu Khola of Rasuwa, have also fallen into Kerung in southern Tibet.
Over 10 hectares of land in Sindhupalchowk district’s Bhotekoshi and Kharanekhola areas were also encroached upon by China.

Adding further the report stated, “In Sankhuwasabha, 9 hectors of land have been encroached due to the road expansion in the autonomous region of Tibet.”
Here areas around Kamukhola, Arun River and Sumjung River have fallen into Tingisyan County area.
The survey further revealed some places near the Arun Khola, Kamu Khola and Sumjung has also fallen into Tibet’s Tingisyan area.
The survey report was released following a tense situation between India and Nepal over a new map showing Kalapani- a disputed area claimed by both nations- in Uttarakhand.
“Our map accurately depicts the sovereign territory of India. The new map has, in no manner, revised our boundary with Nepal,” MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar.
“The boundary delineation exercise with Nepal is ongoing under the existing mechanism. We reiterate our commitment to finding a solution through dialogue in the spirit of our close and friendly bilateral relation,” he added.
