Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is keen to introduce Drukair flight services between Bhutan and Singapore via Guwahati.
Sonowal on Thursday, met with Consul General of Bhutan Phub Tshering at his official residence to expedite the process for the mutual benefit of the region.
Earlier in the year, Foreign Minister of Bhutan Damcho Dorji announced introduction of Drukair service between Guwahati-Paro and Singapore, to take advantage of India’s Act Policy initiatives.
He asked the officer of the Royal Bhutanese Embassy about the status of implementation of the service and informed him that he would request Civil Aviation Ministry, Government of India to expedite the process so that this dream can become reality.
Sonowal also told him that he would also talk to Bhutan Prime Minister Tsering Togbay regarding the issue.
The Assam Chief Minister also conveyed the State’s warm greetings and vowed to cement the diplomatic relations between Bhutan and Assam.
