Tripura: Three Bangladeshi women held in Agartala

Tripura Assam: Police foil illegal entry attempts by Bangladeshi nationals

Agartala: The Government Railway Police (GRP) detained three Bangladeshi nationals at Agartala Railway Station in Tripura on Monday evening.

GRP officer-in-charge Tapan Dassaid that the suspected women were apprehended while they were en route to Delhi.

Das stated that the three individuals were detained at the station based on a tip-off.

“They are residents of Bangladesh and illegally entered Tripura on Sunday evening”, he said.

The detainees have been identified as Hasna Hena (26) from Satkhira District, Kulsom Begum (22) from Narail and Swapna Akhter from Chattogram, Bangladesh.

He further informed that they also seized Bangladeshi currency and certain documents from them.

“A case has been registered, and they have been produced before the court,” he said.
