Guwahati: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that Noida International Airport in Jewar will be renamed Narendra Modi International Airport.

Located in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, the airport is the second international airport serving the National Capital Region (NCR), alongside Delhiโ€™s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the airportโ€™s first phase on March 28, 2026, and commercial operations began in June.

The initial phase has one runway and a passenger terminal with an annual capacity of 12 million passengers.

The airport is accessible via the Yamuna Expressway and is intended to ease pressure on Delhiโ€™s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Further expansion is planned to increase its annual capacity to 70 million passengers by 2050.

The second phase is expected to become operational in 2031-32.
