Guwahati: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged that he was slapped multiple times by some individuals during a protest in Jaipur on Monday.

The alleged incident took place at Shaheed Smarak, where a large number of youths had gathered to protest issues including the alleged NEET question paper leak, CBSE on-screen marking (OSM) issues and unemployment.

According to those present, Dipke was being carried on the shoulders of supporters when the incident occurred.

Speaking after the alleged assault, Dipke said he had been attacked while entering the venue. He urged his supporters not to retaliate, stating that violence should not be met with violence and that such attacks would not silence the movement.

Addressing the gathering, Dipke raised concerns over the alleged NEET paper leak and criticised the handling of education-related issues. Referring to comments attributed to a Rajasthan minister, he questioned the response to the controversy and also cited the collapse of a school building in Jhalawar that reportedly claimed the lives of several students.

He further criticised the government over recurring examination irregularities and accused authorities of branding critics and sections of the media as ‘Pakistanis’ when questions were raised on such issues.

The protest forms part of a nationwide campaign launched by the CJP, a satirical front that began with a large student gathering in New Delhi. Similar youth-led demonstrations have since been held in Amritsar, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Lucknow.

Dipke said the movement was expanding across the country and warned of a return protest in Delhi if Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan did not resign over alleged examination irregularities, including the NEET paper leak controversy and CBSE OSM issues. He said the campaign represented the voice of India’s youth and would continue to grow.

The group emerged in May after controversial remarks by Chief Justice Surya Kant triggered widespread outrage online. Since then, it has built a substantial social media following by turning the term “cockroach” into a symbol of resistance.

Activist Sonam Wangchuk has been one of the prominent faces of the campaign, while actor Prakash Raj joined supporters during a protest gathering in Bengaluru on Sunday.
