Tripura government on Monday has changed its guideline after getting COVID-19 positive cases from Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai returned people.
The State Government has decided that those who have returned from Mumbai will all be tested.
On May 21 last, a Shramik Special Passenger train came to Agartala from Mumbai with 1154 passengers.
The state Health department tested only 344 passengers.
Earlier it was decided that those who are coming from outside the state will be tested on 5:1 ratio.
That means among each of five passengers only one passenger will be tested.
With that rules 344 passengers of Mumbai returned were tested.
Since last three days, 20 patients who returned from Mumbai were found positive in Tripura.
On Monday, also four persons were found positive and they came from Mumbai.
Now the State Government has decided that all the passengers who came back from Mumbai will be tested.
And from now on those who are coming from outside of Tripura, for them institutional quarantine is mandatory till their sample results come.
Earlier, after arriving at Agartala rail station screening of all the passengers were mandatory.
After screening, if anyone found symptomatic then he was sent to institutional quarantine and others were send to home quarantine.
But there were several allegations that people are not taking seriously the home quarantine process.
So the State Government has decided that all the passengers who are coming from outside must stay in institutional quarantine till their report come.
At present the State has recorded 196 COVID-19 positive cases.
Though maximum patients have been discharged from hospitals, but recently more than 20 new cases have come to the fore.
