A training programme for the nodal teachers on Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign was held at Orang in Udalguri district of Assam.
The Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign has been launched by the Government of India in order to eliminate Measles and control Rubella infection by 2020.
Accordingly, it has been made essential that each and every child between the age of nine months to 15 years gets vaccinated irrespective of any history of Measles or Rubella vaccination in the past.
In this connection an orientation programme with all the nodal teachers under Orang Block PHC jurisdiction area in Udalguri was organized on Friday at the community hall of Orang VCDC.
A total of nearly 350 numbers of nodal teachers from various schools under Mazbat Education Block participated in the training.
Surveillance Medical Officer, World Health Organization, Tezpur Unit, Dr Anirban Chatterjee and District Immunization Officer, Udalguri, Dr Ganesh Chandra Brahma attended the training as resource persons and covered all technical and operational aspects relating to the implementation of the Measles Rubella Vaccine Campaign.
Block Programme Manager, Orang BPHC, Pankaj Sabhapandit anchored the training programme.
While addressing the technical session, Dr Anirban Chatterjee, also addressed queries and doubts from the participants which they generally have while associating in implementation of such programme.
SDM, Dr Manoj Kr Sarma requested the participants to extend their full cooperation for successful implementation of the programme.
