A 26-year-old youth from Hyderabad sent a selfie video from the hospital bed to his father minutes before he succumbed to COVID-19.

In the video, the deceased was seen saying that he was feeling breathless as the doctors had “removed” the ventilator support.

“They have removed the ventilator and have not been responding to my plea for the last three hours to provide oxygen support,” the man was heard saying the video.

The incident took place at Government Chest Hospital, Erragadda in Hyderabad on Friday night.

The incident came to light on Sunday after the video was widely shared on social media.

“My heart has stopped and only lungs are working, but I am unable to breathe daddy,” the man further said in the video.

“Bye, daddy. Bye all, bye daddy,” the man was heard further saying.

Reacting to the video the man’s father said that his son died minutes after sending the video.

The deceased was suffering from high fever on June 24 and was admitted to the Chest Hospital.

Chest hospital superintendent Mahboob Khan, however, denied the allegation.

“The ventilator support was there. The patient, however, was in such a critical stage that he could not feel the oxygen supply,” Khan said.

“He died of a sudden collapse of heart and we have come across such cases in the last few days,” Khan further added.

He further said that young people dying of lungs collapse infected by COVID-19 is a new phenomenon.
