A resident of Telangana has tied masks around his goats’ muzzles in an attempt to protect the animals from being infected by COVID-19.
The man A Venkateshwara Rao who is a resident of Kallur Mandal in Khamam district of Telangana had decided to tie masks around his goats’ muzzles after hearing about the tiger at the Bronx Zoo that had tested positive for COVID-19 recently.
“I have started tying masks around my goat’s muzzles after I heard COVID-19 infected a tiger in the US,” a media report quoted Rao as saying.
He also said that his family is fully dependent on his twenty goats as they do not own any land for farming.
The man also said that he always wears masks while venturing out of the house and also made his goats wear masks too.
“Since I am wearing a mask myself, I even decided to make my goats wear masks while foraging in the forest area,” he added.
After a four-year-old Malayalan tiger developed a dry cough and started losing its appetite the authorities of the Bronx Zoo in New York did X-rays, an ultrasound and blood tests to try to figure out what was ailing the animal.
The tiger was tested positive for COVID-19 and was found to become sick after exposure to an asymptomatic zoo employee.
