The Mizoram government on Friday officially designated State Referral Hospital – Zoram Medical College as isolation and treatment centre for COVID-19 infected patients, an official statement said.
The move was taken as per the guidelines set up the Central Government to acquire suitable hospitals and nursing home for isolation and treatment centre of infected patients, the statement said.
Officials of Zoram Medical College said vacating of beds at the medical college is under progress to made room for both suspected and infected patients of COVID-19.

They said all OPDs were closed and in-patients are being shifted to Aizawl civil hospital and private hospitals in the state capital.
A bulletin issued by the college on Friday said the COVID-19 infected patients and other suspected patients being treated at isolation wards are stable.
It said at least there were suspected patients and one infected patients of coronavirus at the medical college till date.
Of the seven suspected patients, four were at high risk, the bulletin said.
The college authority also thanked individual and paramedics for extending helps to the college.
