The COVID19 active cases in Meghalaya came down to 582 after 66 patients recovered from the infection on Tuesday, taking the total recovery cases to 330.

Among the 66 persons who have recovered, 54 are from East Khasi Hills district including 39 BSF personnel, and 14 civilians.

Seven patients from West Garo Hills, four from South West Garo Hills and one from Ri Bhoi district have also recovered on Tuesday.

Confirming the news, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma tweeted: “Meghalaya records highest single-day recoveries with 66 people recovered from #COVID19. Wishing everyone speedy recovery.”

Meanwhile a total of 15 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported on Tuesday including nine in East Khasi Hills, five in West Garo Hills and one in Ri Bhoi district.

With 15 new positive cases, the state now has a total of 582 active cases.

In total, there are 917 cases, which include 582 active cases, 330 persons who have recovered, and five deaths.
