In the wake of global coronavirus pandemic, the national importance organization like Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed all institutes to work from home.
The GIMT, Guwahati, the first private engineering college in Assam also supported the initiative of MHRD and UGC by tuning the point ‘work from home’.
Already all the departments of GIMT, Guwahati, such as CSE, ME, CIVIL, ECE, EE, MBA, Business Administration (Bus. Admn), BBA etc have started their digital teaching learning process using Google Classroom, WhatsApp, and group e-mail from Monday to March 31 next.
The organization behind the GIMT-Guwahati is Shrimanta Shankar Academy, Guwahati which also supports the initiative of departments.
The institute is liable to deliver the academic matter to the students and considered it as a bounden duty.
The various department of GIMT-Guwahati has already made their academic action plan for the said time period and they will continue with it if the situation is not normal after March 31.
Faculties and Instructors will continue to share the class notes/ assignment via Google classroom, WhatsApp, and group e-mail.
They will clear the doubts of the students via the said medium.
The mentors, faculty and instructors will guide the students of GIMT-G via the ERP portal/ group whatsApp and make aware of these online teaching and learning.
The principal GIMT has directed all students members to be active in WhatsApp/Group Mail/Google Classroom to take part in this digital process, according to a press release.
