A Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra was formally inaugurated at NTPC Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project situated at Salakati in Assam’s Kokrajhar district on Saturday.
Dipankar Bose, chief general manager, BTPC Bongaigaon, inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra at NTPC township during a ceremonial programme in presence of a host of dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Bose said the generic medicine shop would immensely benefit not only the employees and families of the NTPC township but also the villagers of the surrounding villages in getting access to quality medicines at lesser prices.
The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana is a campaign launched by department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses.
The generic medicines are not only available at lesser prices in Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra but equivalent in quality and efficacy as expensive branded drugs.
O Murukadas, GM(P), Rakesh Kumar, GM(O&M), Md Enamul Haque, AG(civil), Anil Parwal,AG(F&A) and Kuldip Konwar, PMBJB officer were also present in the inaugural programme.
