The District Health Committee, Kokrajhar under the National Health Mission (NHM) organised a mega health camp at Shialmari school playground in Kokrajhar district of Assam on Thursday.
Kokrajhar West constituency MLA Rabiram Narzary inaugurated the health camp in the presence of joint director of Health Services, Kokrajhar, Dr J Ahmed, district programme manager, NHM, Kokrajhar, Uttam Brahma and other officials of the Health department.
Ahmed said the health camp is being organized to enable the local people in remote areas to get health check-ups and resolve their health concerns instead of going to the block PHC or the civil hospital.
Ahmed also made aware the people on various health schemes and services by the government. He also appealed to the people to extend cooperation to the administration and health authorities to set a new benchmark in the health firmament in the days ahead.
Doctors including specialists and paramedical staff and officials attended the health mela. Over 1000 patients were given treatment and medicine free of cost. Mobile Medical Unit, Sanjivani 104, was also pressed into service.
