Out of the total of 34 COVID19 positive patients registered in Assam, five have been discharged from the hospitals after their recovery.

While two COVID19 positive patients were discharged on Wednesday from Sonapur Civil Hospital, on the outskirts of Guwahati city, 3 other positive patients were discharged on Thursday from Goalpara Civil Hospital.

The two COVID19 positive patients, who were discharged from Sonapur Civil Hospital after being treated, are Nuruddin Ali and Jonab Ali.

Informing about their recovery and release from the hospital, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the COVID19 patients were “treated at Sonapur Civil Hospital, and were successively tested negative twice” as per the ICMR, DELHI protocols.

However, they have been “sent for a 14-day home quarantine”.

The three COVID19 patients, who have been discharged from Goalpara Civil Hospital, are Khabiruddin Ahmed, Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, and Yusuf Ali.

They have also been sent to 14-day home quarantine after they tested negative for the virus in two successive tests.

Assam health minister Sarma along with his deputy Pijush Hazarika visited Goalpara Civil Hospital to monitor the discharge of the 3 COVID19 patients from the hospital.

Informing about their visit to the Goalpara Civil Hospital and discharge of the trio, health minister Sarma tweeted on Thursday: “I & MoS @Pijush_hazarika visited Goalpara Civil Hospital to monitor discharge of 3 #Covid patients – Khabiruddin Ahmed, Shahjahan Ali Ahmed & Yusuf Ali.”

“As per @ICMRDelhi protocols, they have been sent to 14-day home quarantine after they tested negative in 2 successive tests,” he added.
