Assam has registered two more COVID19 positive cases taking the total to 34.
Confirming this, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday evening said the two new COVID19 positive cases are from Morigaon.
Health minister Sarma also claimed that both of the patients are ‘secondary contacts’ of the COVID19 positive cases who attended the religious congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi.
He, however, confirmed that five COVID19 positive cases, registered in the state, have been cured.
Health minister Sarma tweeted at 5 pm on Thursday: “Alert ~ Two persons from Morigaon have tested #COVID19 positive. They both are secondary contacts of #NizamuddinMarkaz attendees.”
“The cumulative number of patients in Assam now stands at 34. So far 5 patients have been cured,” the minister added.
