A total of 40 students Noida school were tested for coronavirus and sent for 28 day’s isolation after the parent of a student was tested positive for the virus.
The authority of Shriram Millennium School in Sector 135 at Noida in Uttar Pradesh also decided to close down its premises for two days.
The school has also postponed its annual examinations.

A media report quoted the chief medical officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar as saying that a total of 40 students of the school were tested for coronavirus.
The report quoted a senior school official as saying: “Yes the said patient of COVID-19 is a parent of our student, we have taken all precautionary measures and are in constant contact with the health ministry to monitor situation.”

During the two-day closure, the school will be sanitised.
The report quoted chief medical officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Anurag Bhargava, as saying: “The school will be closed for a day or two now. During this time it will be sanitised.”
“The process of sanitising the school will take one to two days. It takes more than an hour to sanitise a room, our medical team has told the school about the treatment,” the medical officer further said.
The medical officer also said: “A total of 40 people have been tested in Noida. The reports will take a few hours.”
However, Anurag Bhargava asked the people to ignore “rumours” and said they have all the facilities to tackle the situation.
He also said they have developed the isolation ward.
The report quoted a parent of the school on condition of anonymity said that they had come to know about the development on the WhatsApp group of the parents early in the morning on Tuesday.
“There was complete panic on the group. Today’s exam has been cancelled and the school is now shut for sanitisation. We pray for those who were there at the birthday party where the infected person was present,” the parent said on Tuesday.
As the news spread like wildfire on social media the school authority sprung into action.
A message by the school administration on Tuesday read: “Dear Parents, due to certain unavoidable circumstances we will be postponing the exams scheduled today. The new dates will be communicated shortly.”
Meanwhile, major cities across China have announced new travel restrictions on people who have recently visited countries where coronavirus infections are on the rise.
According to the WHO’s latest figures, the number of deaths from coronavirus has reached 3,110 globally.
