Four more people have died of COVID19 on Monday in Assam.

The news has has been confirmed by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Monday.

The COVID19 victims include 31-year-old Uttam Das, a resident of Golaghat, 62-year-old Keshab Kumar Barua, a resident of Kamrup (M), 30-year-old Kartik Kalita (30) of Kamrup (M) and 56-year-old Dr. Jahan Iqbal Ahmed, an Associate Professor of Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH), Sarma said.

Northeast Now at 4.06 pm on Monday reported the death of Dr Jahan Iqbal Ahmed, who is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at GMCH, due to infection and now the death has been confirmed by the state health minister.

While sharing the latest data on COVID19 tests in different laboratories across Assam, the health minister in another tweet said, “Our #Covid_19 testing figure reached 563,482 today.”

The health minister has requested the people in the state to give their swab samples for COVID19 test.

“We shall highly appreciate if you can give your swabs for testing. My appreciation for the teams for having put in very hard work to reach out to so many people to test and trace. Let’s work together to ensure,” Sarma tweeted
