India has vaccinated 2 million health workers in less than two weeks.

COVID-19 vaccination drive in India – the largest in the world had kick-started on January 16.

Applauding the feat Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said, “India becomes the fastest country to administer 2 Million Doses of Covid-19 Vaccine under the largest vaccination drive of the world.”

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said, “The strong political will exhibited by our Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi helped India mitigate the impact of the pandemic.”

BJP National President JP Nadda also took to twitter to express happiness as India became the fastest Country to administer 2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

However, at a time when most of the world is struggling to secure enough vaccines to administer their populations, India is facing the opposite problem: Plenty of shots, but a shortage of people willing to take them.

India had targeted to vaccinate at least 300 million people by the end of July.

At present two vaccines are being administered to the people in India: AstraZeneca vaccine, manufactured by Serum Institute of India and Covaxin developed by Bharat Biotech International Ltd.

Meanwhile, the Government has been trying to dispel the rumours surrounding the two COVID-19 vaccines in India.
