As the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread across the globe, a total of 17 confirmed cases of the disease among Indians living in foreign countries have been reported.
Media reports quoted the union ministry of external affairs as saying that while 16 confirmed coronavirus cases have been reported from Japan, one case has been reported from the UAE.

This has been confirmed by union minister of state for external affairs V Muraleedharan.
Union minister Muraleedharan said a total of 16 Indians on board a cruise ship in Japan have been tested positive for the deadly virus along with one individual from the UAE.

The union minister also informed that the central government has evacuated a total of 766 people including 723 Indian nationals and 43 foreign nationals from coronavirus-hit China.

Union minister Muraleedharan further said 119 Indians have been brought back to India from the cruise ship in Japan.
There have been over 91,800 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and over 3,100 reported deaths across the world so far.

Of the confirmed cases reported globally, the case fatality rate is approximately 3.4%.
The case fatality rate in countries and regions outside mainland China is 1.6%.
Media reports quoted union minister Muraleedharan as saying: “Air India has raised a bill of Rs 5.98 crore for operating two special flights to China and an Indian Air Force flight carrying relief material to China also carried Indian citizens from Wuhan, China on its return journey.”
Meanwhile, another case in Jaipur, wife of the already confirmed Italian patient, has been confirmed for COVID-19.
A total of 14 Italians and one Indian, who were part of the team of the Jaipur COVID-19 confirmed case, are also initially confirmed positive for COVID-19.
Six family members at Agra, who are family members of the COVID19 confirmed case from Delhi, have also been confirmed for COVID-19.
In addition, two cases with high viral load have been detected in Telangana.
