Guwahati: Another incident of chain snatching took place in the early hours of Thursday morning in Guwahati, Assam.

Two robbers on a motorcycle, identified as a Pulsar 200 without a registration plate, allegedly snatched a gold chain claimed to be worth Rs 9 lakh from a woman.
The victim identified as Bobita Das said that the incident occurred at around 6:30 am when she was out for a morning ride on her new scooter.
She was near her house in the Rajgarh area of Guwahati, Assam when she was approached by the robbers.

The robbers allegedly threatened her with a weapon and made off with the gold chain and earrings.
The woman claimed that she had forgotten to remove the chain after attending a marriage program the previous night.

The chain, which was purchased for Rs 3 lakh a few years ago, has appreciated in value to Rs 8-9 lakh, she said.
The police stated that they are currently investigating the matter and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
