Assam: 7 arrested after clashes during Waqf Act protests in Cachar

Guwahati: An alleged drug peddler was arrested with a stolen motorcycle in Guwahati, Assam on Thursday night.

According to police sources, the suspect was arrested by the officials of the Basistha Police Station based on inputs.

The police, based on the inputs, initiated an operation near the Khanapara area in Guwahati and apprehended a suspect named Krishna Kath.

On searching him, the police found 19 containers of suspected heroin and a motorcycle bearing registration AS01AV1460.

On further investigation, it was found that the apprehended youth was a drug peddler and the motorcycle was stolen.

The items were seized and he was immediately taken into custody.

Further investigation regarding his involvement in other similar crimes is being investigated.
