Guwahati: Amidst Durga Puja celebrations in the state, a man was stabbed to death by an e-rickshaw driver in the Hengrabari area of Guwahati, Assam.

A police official said that the incident occurred on Monday night and the deceased’s body was found on Tuesday morning.

The police said that both the deceased and the accused were e-rickshaw drivers.

The decease has been identified as Khagen Kalita, a source said.

They had a liquor party last night and reportedly ended up in a quarrel.

However, the quarrel turned fatal as one grabbed a knife and stabbed the other.

The identities of the deceased and accused are being verified by the police.

The accused is now reported to be absconding and the police have begun the investigation.
