Bollywood actor Vijay Raaz has been arrested by Gondia police for allegedly molesting a female co-actor during the shoot of the Hindi film “Sherni“.
The actor was picked up by the police from Gondia in Maharashtra on Tuesday and produced before a local court.

Although the court granted him bail, it directed him to be available before the investigating officer whenever required.
“A female crew of the film Sherni filed a complaint with us, accusing Vijay Raaz of molesting her. We registered a case and arrested him,” said a report quoting Atul Kulkarni, Additional SP of Gondia.
A case has been registered under Section 354 (A and D) of the Indian Penal Code.

“Sherni” featuring Vidya Balan in the lead role, was being shot in the forest areas of Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh. The crew members were staying in a hotel in Gondia, where the incident reportedly took place.
Beginning his Bollywood career with Ram Gopal Verma’s “Jungle”, he rose to fame for his role in Mira Nair’s “Monsoon Wedding“. His noteworthy films include “Delhi Belly”, “Gully Boy”, “Bhopal Express” and this year’s releases “Gulabo Sitabo” and “Lootcase”.
The actor has not released any statement regarding the issue.
