Assam’s 19-year old Kangkan Rabha is the first model from northeast India to walk the ramp at the prestigious Milan Fashion Week Men’s 2019.
The Milan Fashion Week Men’s 2019 was held from June 14 to 17, where renowned designers showcased the wider craft of the ‘Made in Italy’ brands.
It is definitely a great achievement for Kangkan because Milan is recognized as one of the world’s four fashion capitals. The fashion capital generates a turnover of over 20 billion Euros.
Kangkan is a student of Icon Academy in Guwahati, and is quite euphoric with the exposure. He wrote: “Couldn’t ask for a better start. With the banner, @zegnaofficial Thank you so much for letting debut at your show.”
The young model from Assam showcased a new set of collections of the famous Italian brand, Zenga, a Milan-based fashion house that makes men’s clothing and accessories.
Zegna was founded in 1910, and is the largest menswear brand in the world by revenue. It has been producing men’s suits for its own labels. It also manufactures suits for Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Dunhill and Tom Ford.
Kangkan’s exposure in Milan is sure to encourage many youths in the northeast, and especially Assam, to take up modeling as a profession in future.
In addition to being a professional model, Kangkan is also a content creator, visual artist and is specializing in photography and styling.
