The University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) is organising a ‘DST Inspire Internship Camp’ for 10+2 science students from May 21 to 25 next.
The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India has entrusted USTM to identify 100 brilliant students from the region for this residential five day-long internship camp and ‘inculcate scientific temperament and innovation skill’ among the students inspiring them towards research on various issues of science and technology.
Dr Ajmal Barbhuiya, Academic Registrar of USTM said that the internship camp will help the budding talents of the north-eastern region to be aware of the vast opportunities from the field of academics, research and development, engineering, medical science, social entrepreneurship and other domains of knowledge.
“He also said that the camp will help them chose their appropriate area of interest which will in turn enable them excel in their career.
The programme will encourage intense and open interactions between the students and resource persons to exchange knowledge on every relevant subject.
The students will be given special coaching by experts and well experienced faculty members for the subjects of Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Geography.
USTM has come forward to host this flagship programme of the Department of Science and Technology for the second time for the students of North-east India.
