Sikkim Government College, Tadong ranked 190 amongst the 12,000 UGC-affiliated colleges in India by MHRD-approved National Institutional Ranking Framework list.

Delhi’s Miranda House retained the top spot and new entrant St. Stephens grabbed the second position followed by Bishop Heber College in Tiruchirappalli, according to the nation-wide government ranking released on April 3.

Within the Northeastern States, Pachhunga University College of Aizawl, Mizoram bagged first position and Sonapur College of Kamrup, Assam the second with an all India ranking of 132 and 140 respectively.

Sikkim Government College, Tadong has grabbed ninth position within the Northeast.

Tadong college principal Dr. Bina Pradhan said, “We must thank State HRD department for their constant support towards enhancement of quality higher education in the State and this ranking would definitely be an indicator on the way to the progression of State Higher Education”, reports Sikkim Express.

Dr. Pradhan added they will be working hard to improve the ranking further in the coming years.
