A day-long training programme on ‘Use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools in Teaching and Evaluation” was held at Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT)-Tezpur.
The training programme was organised for the teaching fraternity of GIMT-Tezpur and the neighbouring educational institutions under the aegis of TEQIP-III in association with the Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), Guwahati.

The programme started with a short inaugural ceremony led by Dr. Sujit Talukdar, followed by lighting of the lamp in presence of the invited experts, participants.

The participants included the principal of GIMT-Tezpur Dr. Buljit Buragohain, dean (Admin) Capt (retired) Mukul Kumar Das, dean (Academics) Dipal Baruah and Dr. Bidyut Deka, dean (Exam & Affiliation).

In the first session of the programme, Prof. Nityananada Sarma of Tezpur Central University elaborately discussed about different prospects and aspects of ICT tools in the teaching and evaluation process while emphasising technical courses.
The anterior hands-on-practice sessions of the training programme were shared by Dr. Swapnarani Bora and Dr. Ikbal Hussain Ahmed, of Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC), Tezpur University.
In the practice sessions, the participants experienced a board introduction to the use of screencasting for flipped classroom, use of online classroom in teaching and evaluation, Google classroom and so on.
The training programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
