The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) or matriculation and the Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations, 2020, begin from Monday.
The examinations will continue till February 29.
A total of 3,58,446 students are taking the HSLC and AHM 2020 examinations across 860 centers in the State.
Of the candidates, 3,48,739 are appearing for the HSLC examination and 9,707 for the AHM examination.
State education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken to Twitter to wish the candidates ahead of the examinations.
Himanta in his official Twitter handle wrote:
‘The more you sweat, the more you shine! After your months of hard work, it is time to prove yourself in the exam. I am certain you shall shine. Do well my dear young friends appearing for High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) Exams.’
Meanwhile, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has stated that students will have to use black ink to write in the examination this session.
The HSLC and AHM examinations are being conducted under CCTV cameras.
Signal Jammers will be installed at various examination centers across the State to prevent students from using cellphones and other such devices.
Notably last month, SEBA chairman, R C Jain had said students caught cheating, carrying mobile phones and disobeying invigilators will face suspension up to next three years.
The district administrations have also imposed restrictions under Section 144 CrPC in the examination centres so that no one can come within 100 metres barring candidates and those involved in the examination process.
