The Central government has approved the admission of girls in Class VI at the Sainik School East Siang from the 2021-22 academic session, the school’s principal Lt. Colonel Rajesh Singh said on Saturday.

The Sainik School, established on August 27, 2020, is located at Niglok in East Siang district.

Admission of girls at the Sainik School has been a long-cherished dream of Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu, Lt. Colonel Singh said.

The Sainik Schools are known for shaping the minds of young people keen on joining the National Defence Academy (NDA).

“Parents and girls eager to join can participate in a survey via a mobile-based link https://forms.gle/WQzkyWwC8jV8noP89 on from July 1-31,” Lt Col Singh said.

The principal added that the objective of the survey is to spur girls to prepare for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination 2021-22 to be held tentatively on January 3, 2021.

“The school promises to mould the girl cadets for becoming the flag-bearers of the state and wearing the most coveted uniform,” he added.
